Hi all, just announcing an important update to the UNofficialPreziPlayer for Android; in that sense this thread supersedes the thread on the beta version (http://community.prezi.com/prezi/topi...).
I have named the version 'Gamma (1)', as after the previous alpha and beta version this version is a step further then the last beta, but is now no longer feature complete (as a beta version usually is).
The reason for the update is one of neccesity: due to changes in the prezi zip file format, the previous version no longer worked. Indeed, using the app for old, exported-for-standalone-prezi-zipfiles may work, it will no longer work on the standalone version. Instead, using an approach I developed using my other app ( http://community.prezi.com/prezi/topi... ), the app now plays prezi pez files, which are the ones Prezi Desktop plays as well.
This change has some consequences: the app is no longer feature complete, as it does not yet support* all those fonts out there. It is also a first in a series: the app has been adapted to get it to work with a pez file, and not everything is adapted to its new features.
A description of how the app works, and what you need to do to get it working, is described in a prezi. I decided to go for a prezi, so that:
- it is possible to keep the instructions current. As I learned in the alpha and beta phases, the usage of the app changed, and any description in the 'mother' post of a thread may become obsolete. Indeed, the fact that the app behaves differently (and that it accepts pez files instead of standalone-prezi-zip-files is the compelling reason for me to close (or try to close;-0) the other thread, and open a new one;
- it overcomes a problem in linking to dropbox files, which is sometimes cumbersome on this forum
The prezi where you can find all the information is: http://prezi.com/-3kb-ij-b_p9/descrip...
If you like the prezi: it is made from a mindmap made in freemind, and converted using my other app: http://community.prezi.com/prezi/topi... although changes will probably be made through editing the prezi file itself, the original layout is from the (free as in beer) Java importer.
For the record:
- Personal hack, NOT officially endorsed by the prezi team;
- NO guaranties
- NO official support, although I will try to respond to any enquiries
Kind regards,
Roel

* Another thing I want to bring into this app, is a feature developed for my other app: importing (freemind) mindmaps. As of the time of this writing, this feature is not yet part of my app, but my current forecast is that adding it will be relatively easy. (No expected dates, though).
