Prezi Desktop frustratingly buggy

Long time Prezi user who has been frustrated, for close to a year, with the updated new-interface Desktop.

Just the facts
1. Running Prezi Desktop
2. Using a fully updated Windows 8 machine
3. Have somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 Prezis that I've created over the years for use in my classroom lectures.

The Problems

A. Prezis frequently won't open. The desktop interface will open; the little spinning "Opening" screen pops up and ... that's it. Endless spinning opening screen.

B. Prezi opens into a blank white nothingness. Done. Then when i attempt once again to open a Prezi from within that screen, or close Desktop and start again, complete nothingness. Prezi won't open again unless I open the Task Manager, kill the Prezi background process, and start again. Even then, nothingness.
"Sorry folks waiting patiently for the class to begin, just give me another 5 to 10 minutes of wasting time, trying to get one stupid little Prezi to open!"

C. When Prezis are open (often at the worst times for a problem, like during a lecture) I will turn around to the screen to get Prezi telling me:

Could not save your Prezi
Please check your internet connection. Click the Save icon once your connection is restored to be sure you don't lose any of your work.

And I think, or comment loudly in class to my students, "Gee, Prezi Desktop, what the hell are you doing searching for an internet connection? Your Prezi Desktop. 'With Prezi Desktop, you’re not tied to the internet.', so why are you bothering me with this internet connection nonsense? Forget about it, and get back to the presentation."

But nope, Prezi Desktop doesn't want to hear it; responding by either freezing up; temporarily allowing me to return to the Prezi before putting up the same error; or allowing me to return to the Prezi with the whole thing ghosted-out as it does when putting the error message on the screen.

CONCLUSION

Please, Prezi. I'm happy to pay money for the convenience of having Prezi Desktop working OFFLINE. My needs are simple, just run my Prezis. Nothing fancy. No videos. No audio. Just text created with Prezi and a few images. Nothing over 100 mb for any single one of them, and most under 50.

Help please.

Bob
