Is there a way to set a path "back" out of a frame that is not in your presentation path?

I like adding in little optional slides into my presentation. For instance, extra plots that I don't want to show, but I can bring up if somebody asks a question, or if I suddenly decide I want to go more into depth about a particular point.

It is easy to set up a small "zoom in" slide, and then click on it in order to zoom in. The problem I'm having is that because these are not part of the path, you cannot use the back button to go back to the original slide that you came in from. Also, since you are already zoomed in, you can't easily just click on the original slide. The only solution I've found is to clumsily zoom out a bunch of times, until I can see the original slide, and then click there again.

Is there some better way to do this? If not, it would be a great feature to have (i.e. between frames 1 and 2, you could have frames 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.... which you don't go to by default, but hitting back would always bring you back to 1)
