Can anyone please tell me how I can turn down the volume of the backing music whilst a video is playing?

I am doing a presentation for uni. I have uploaded a backing song, but it plays over the top of videos when they are playing. Is there any way that I can turn the backing music down whilst videos are playing? Please help me :(
